The Stasi were East German secret police from before the fall of the
Berlin wall; They had some records of some pretty bad things the
government at that time was involved in, so during the fall of the
Berlin Wall they attempted to destroy this information. They failed to
completely destroy it, leaving it shredded, so what is left is being
reconstructed.
Microsoft hosting something called “Make Web Not War”, which is their
way of trying to get back onside with developers who hate them because
of what they did in the old days of the web and as I commented: Thats
great that Microsoft is vocally committed to interoperability, but I
want them to do more than that; I want them to say sorry; I want
Microsoft to apologise for all the billions of hours and dollars they
have wasted in development time, lost opportunities, retarded
technology economy they have created as a result of jamming their God
forsaken spanner in the works of standards and interoperability. I am
angry and I still don’t trust them, so you can have your Microsoft.
I think its terrible that people can spend time and money developing for the Apple platform and for their apps to be thrown out of the store.
CONSISTENCY IS A MORAL OBLIGATION, IF YOU DON’T ACT CONSISTENTLY, THOSE YOU HAVE RELATIONSHIPS WITH ARE INSECURE
Mike Chambers goes on to say:
“To be clear, during the entire development cycle of Flash CS5, the feature complied with Appleās licensing terms. However, as developers for the iPhone have learned, if you want to develop for the iPhone you have to be prepared for Apple to reject or restrict your development at anytime, and for seemingly any reason”
Apple recently famously stated that they will not allow Adobe Flash in
the iPhone or iPad – but we all know that HTML5 is more than capable
of providing the same experience as flash – well enter “Smokescreen” a
soon-to-be open sourced engine for rendering flash inside the iphone
via HTML5 / javascipt :D
